The white background reads as classic and corporate, the kind of look that suits almost any profession. The green canvas adds a little warmth and character, which works well if you want to stand out a touch from the standard headshot. Two finished images, two distinct feels, so Kalman could use one on LinkedIn and keep the other for a different platform or context.
