Frequently asked questions

I’m in Herne Hill (SE London). Herne Hill station is a 7 minute walk away with services from Victoria, Farringdon etc. North Dulwich Station is a 12 minute walk away, with trains from London Bridge. The are also buses from Brixton and Euston etc.

For each package there is a ‘More Info and Booking’ page. Within this page, there is a booking calendar, where you can see availability, choose your preferred date/time and pay either the deposit or full amount.

For each package there is a guide number of tops that can be used during the session. This doesn’t mean you can only bring that number with you. Bring as many as you like. We can then make a decision together as to which you should wear. One thing to ensure is that they have as few creases as possible, no logos or fancy patterns, no animal hairs, fluff etc…

Unedited files are not included as standard and are only provided if explicitly stated as part of a specific package or written quote. RAW files are not provided under any circumstance.

Quality Control:
RAW files are the digital negatives of photography and they are not a finished product. Editing is essential to ensure the final images meet the professional standard I’m known for and maintain the quality of work associated with my brand.

Quality Over Quantity:
While it might seem like added value to receive every image taken during a shoot, it often has the opposite effect. Unedited images can include test shots, misfires, duplicates, or unflattering moments, none of which reflect the final quality or intent of the session. Rather than helping, they create noise, confusion, and dilute the impact of the finished gallery. Instead, I provide a carefully curated, professionally edited selection that shows you at your best, because when it comes to photography, less is more, especially when it’s intentional.

Pricing and Value:
Each package is priced according to session length, the number of professionally edited images included, and personal-use licensing, along with factors such as setup time, equipment, and post-production. The price reflects the full creative process, not just the time spent shooting. Providing unedited or additional files outside of the agreed package would alter the scope of work and increase the overall cost of the package. This ensures fairness and consistency across all clients while maintaining the quality and value of the service provided.

Copyright and Intellectual Property:
As the photographer, I retain all intellectual property rights to the images captured, including the sole copyright. Only edited images, as outlined in your chosen package or quote, are provided with a licence for personal, non-commercial use. For more details, please see clauses 4 and 5 of the Terms and Conditions.

Proof images a low resolution samples images from the shoot. These are provided within 24 hours of your photoshoot for you to select the images you would like edited. No proof images may be used for any reason other than review to choose images for editing.

I select to be the best ones from the whole shoot, looking at areas such as lighting, focus, background, variety of facial expressions, etc. 

Anywhere from 10% of the total shots taken during your photoshoot. 

For each package there is an estimate for the number of images included in the online gallery. This number is not a guarantee. Actual number may be more or less. 

Editing time is usually 7-10 business days from when you let me know your choices and I send them either as an email attachment or upload to dropbox. Editing time is the same for all packages, as I edit each clients images in the order that they are received, along with doing multiple shoots per day.

Sometimes, with a strong wind behind me, I’ll complete the edits and get them back to you sooner.

If you would like your edits faster, 48h express editing is available to purchase as an add-on.

As with above for quality control, I do not allow this. It is also against the terms of copyright. 

Additional edits start at £30 each, dependent on the package and/or amount of work required and can be purchased from your online gallery.

My outdoor images are done under a bridge, so rain/cloud/too much sunshine are rarely a problem. The biggest issue can come from the wind, which is very good at messing up hair.  If the weather is too bad, the session will be carried out in-studio. Please note, I have moved a short distance away from where I do my outside shoots, so these can only be booked upon request and are approximately twenty minutes shorter than an equivalent in-studio photoshoot, to accommodate my travel time.

I'm aware that unforeseen events happen and of course recognise the importance of auditions. With this in mind, I try to be as accommodating as possible when it comes to rescheduling, however if I am unable to fill your slot, admin fees may apply. For more information on this, see clause 2 & 3 of the Terms and Conditions.

There are on street parking spaces which are approximately £5ph using PayByPhone between 12pm-2pm. It’s free outside of these hours.

Whilst this isn’t a frequently asked question, I thought I should cover it here. For in-studio sessions, the images are displayed on screen throughout the shoot and when outside, I intermittently show the images on the camera screen. The quality of the images will match, or be better than those displayed throughout the website. If you have any issues during the shoot, please feel free to raise them and I’ll try to accommodate, however if the expectation is to create images unlike any of my previous work, it may not be possible. There is no right to reject the images for any reason and no refund is given. For more information on this, please see clause 6.3 of the Terms and Conditions.
