Energy and carbon emissions

My photography uses flashes, which mostly require batteries, and energy is used to heat my studio.  I have a renewable energy tariff, use rechargeable batteries and have an electric boiler. When travelling to locations, where possible I’ll use low carbon transport, such as public transport or an electric vehicle.

Purchasing and Equipment

Photography involves a fair amount of equipment, and I’ll always consider sustainability when making purchasing decisions.  For example, my canvas backdrops are painted with eco paint, I use eco cleaning products and my phone is a sustainable Fairphone. 

Diversity and Inclusion

It’s always been important to me to represent the diverse nature of my customer base, whether on my website or on social media, across all the different aspects of diversity.  I understand how to adapt light set-ups to effectively capture a range of skin tones. 

Honest editing 

For me, beauty isn’t about heavily retouched images that look false and don’t accurately represent the person being captured. I prefer to capture authentic, honest images, with subtle editing to bring out the best in you. You can read more about my editing here.
